Idea Factory

Idea Factory is a multidisciplinary collaborative project-based learning approach to teach advanced subjects with the aim to develop critical thinking, idea development, and intellectual design skills. The aim of this project is to ensure students develop skills that can be utilized for modern industries. In the proposed framework, students from different disciplines paired together and jointly work on identifying real-world problems, seeking feasible solutions, identifying targeted customers, studying customer needs, and developing a product and potentially launching it.

The project has been shortlisted for the Wharton-QS Reimagine Education Awards (The Oscar of Education) in the category of Nurturing Employability.

The project is led by Dr Mahyar Shirvanimoghaddam from the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, The University of Sydney.
